Our Commitment to Transparency
At ApplianceCodeFix, transparency is a core value. This page explains how we earn revenue from affiliate relationships and, importantly, how these relationships do NOT influence our data or recommendations.
What Are Affiliate Links?
When we link to products (like replacement parts or tools) on third-party websites, we may use "affiliate links." If you click these links and make a purchase, we receive a small commission from the retailer — at no additional cost to you.
These commissions help us cover operating costs and continue providing free appliance repair information.
Our Affiliate Partners
We have affiliate relationships with:
- Amazon Associates — Tools, general replacement parts
- Parts retailers — PartSelect, RepairClinic, and similar appliance parts suppliers
- Tool manufacturers — Multimeters, repair tool kits
How Affiliate Links Are Marked
We mark affiliate links clearly. You'll see disclosures like:
- "(affiliate link)" next to the link
- A disclosure statement on pages with affiliate content
- Clear product link sections labeled as containing affiliate links
Example Disclosure
"This page contains affiliate links. If you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not influence our data or recommendations."
What Affiliate Relationships DON'T Affect
Our Data Is Never Influenced
Our repair statistics come from analysis of owner experiences — not from affiliate partnerships. If aftermarket parts show better reliability than OEM parts in our data, we report that, regardless of which pays higher commissions.
Our Recommendations Are Independent
We recommend products based on:
- Owner-reported success rates
- Reliability data from our analysis
- Value for money based on actual prices paid
We do NOT recommend products based on commission rates or affiliate relationships.
Statistical Integrity
Our methodology, sample sizes, and statistical standards remain the same regardless of whether a product has an affiliate program. We will never:
- Inflate success rates for affiliate products
- Hide negative data about affiliate partners
- Recommend inferior products for higher commissions
- Suppress information about non-affiliate alternatives
Revenue Transparency
Our revenue comes from three sources:
- Display advertising — General ads served through ad networks
- Affiliate commissions — From parts and tools we link to
- No manufacturer payments — We do not receive money from appliance manufacturers
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on affiliate marketing. We believe in exceeding minimum requirements by:
- Disclosing affiliate relationships clearly and prominently
- Explaining exactly how our revenue model works
- Demonstrating the separation between editorial and affiliate content
